I am reading the book Cut by Patricia McCormick, she was a national book award finalist in 2007. This book is about a girl that cuts herself. Never too deep, never enough to die. But enough to feel the pain, enough to feel the scream inside. Now she's at Sea Pines, a "residential facility" filled with girls struggling with problems of their own. she doesn't want to have anything to do with them. She doesn't want to have anything to do with anyone. She won't even speak. But she can only stay silent for so long....

What I'm Reading

I am reading Homecoming by Cynthia Voigt. It is basically about four kids who get abandoned by their mother and are forced to search for a safe place at their distant aunt's house. However, this "haven" they had in their minds didn't end up to be quit so.....Even though this book of hers hasn't won any awards, she has won many titles for her other great literary works. Out of her more than twenty book portfolio, she has won the Newbery Medal for Dicey's Song, the Newbery Honor for A Solitary Blue, and the Margaret A. Edwards Award for her wonderful writing. If you haven't heard of her before, check her out. She is a very good writer and is very much so worth the read.

What I'm Reading

I'm reading 1984 by George Orwell. Recently Time magazine rated 1984 one of the top 100 books since 1923. He was awarded a "Hall of Fame" award fittingly, in 1984. A prolific political writer, several awards have been named after him.
